• Congratulations go to Sthabile Mnyandu in Grade 11 who was selected to represent South Africa in the Table Tennis Championships in Morocco from 5-11 October. Sthabile was one of eight students in South Africa who were selected. We are very proud of her and wish her luck.


  • Congratulations go to Duduzile Mcelani and Zenande Mabanti who were selected as part of the National female Wheelchair Basketball team who will go to Algeria in November 2016 to compete in hopes of qualifying for the Rio Paralympic Games in 2016. Duduzile, who is in her final year at Open Air School has decided to focus on her matric exams and will not go forward to compete. Zenande, Grade 10 will go to ahead with these Chamionships and we wish her all the best of luck.


  • Congratulations to the following learners who were selected for the u19 KZN Boys Wheelchair Basketball team- Luke Lotter, Ranetsi Manyoni, Musawenkosi Dlamini and Simingaye Shabalala. We are especially proud of Luke Lotter who is the youngest boy in the team in Grade 6. Simingaye was also selected as the team captain.


  • Congratulations to the following learners who were selected for the U19 KZN female Wheelchair Basketball team- Zenande Mabanti, Duduzile Mcelani and Bonisiwe Ngubane.


  • Congratulations to the following learners who have been selected to form part of the Table Tennis provincial team for KZN. 7 out of the 13 players in this provincial team are from Open Air These learners are: Nelisiwe Sibiya,  Nosipho Mbatha, Bonisiwe Ngubane, Sthabile Mnyandu,
    Musawenkosi Dlamini, Lusanda Ndwandwe and Asanda Khawula


  • Congratulations to the following learners who made the KZN Boccia squad- Asanda Mbatha, Zamageba Zulu and Njabulo Cele.
