Nineteen Eden College learners from the Judaica Studies group came to meet our learners in Celebration of Tu B’Shevat, “The New Year of the trees”.
Trees are planted all around the world, on this date, and gifts of dates, pomegranates, olives, and figs are shared. Just as trees bear fruit, symbolically doing good deeds and acts of kindness, allow us to bear fruit.
A tree was planted in the Foundation Phase play area. The rich symbolism of trees and their role in our school symbols was discussed.
We thank the Eden College learners and staff, and our school Principal for allowing this special visit, and we look forward to building strong relationships with Eden College going forward.
The area in which the tree has been planted has been earmarked for development involving our Foundation Phase learners developing ” Green Fingers”.
